Let’s talk about those pesky little flying bugs that seem to always be lurking around your houseplants.🥴
If you’re a plant parent, you most likely have experienced the annoyance of fungus gnats and the annoyance of trying to get rid of fungus gnats.
Fungus gnats thrive off the moisture in the soil of houseplants. If you tend to overwater or simply top water your plants, you may be more likely to have a fungus gnats issue.👎🏻
Fungus gnats are hard to treat because they multiple VERY quickly. And unfortunately, if they set up camp in the soil of one of your plants, it’s very likely they will spread to your other plants.
Here are a few ways you can treat a fungus gnat problem:
🌿Bottom water your plants instead of top watering so that the top of the soil doesn’t become saturated.
🌿Use those bright yellow sticky traps. These really do work, the gnats love the bright color and once they stick, they are stuck.
🌿Try Mosquito Bits. These little bits can be sprinkled on top of the soil and they will kill any little eggs.
These are the three methods I use to fight off fungus gnats. Try them out and let me know if they works for you!🌟
